Not long time ago an internationally renowned photographer Deborah Turbeville visited Saint-Petersburg. She lived in art-hotel «Rachmaninov» with Norwegian photographers and gave interesting master-classes in different parts our beautiful Saint-Petersburg. In the evenings all participants talked in photo-gallery «Rachmaninov garden» about personal successes.Internet TV-channel «video-newspaper «ARTWAY.TV» filmed a closed master-class in Yelagin Palace, for which firstly have chosen special photo models.

Until the 19th of  December only at the salone-gallery “Blue Lounge” the exhibition of genius sculptor, the member of  the Artists’ Union of St. Petersburg, is opened. His work was last shown at the State Russian Museum in 1994.
Konstantin Simun during last 20 years is living in America, in Boston state Massachusetts. However, he does not consider himself as an American and happy to stay for a while in our nice, but not yet able to appreciate true talent ,city on the Neva river.
The most famous sculpture by Simun – “Broken blockade Ring”, a memorial, which is a part of the Green Belt of Glory, located on the western shore of Ladoga lake. It was opened on 29th of October in 1966 on the Road of Life, and was an example of Soviet period vanguard, which has caused mixed reaction and was omitted by accident.
Extraordinary personality of the artist is really incredible, as well as his works. He is a classic of Russian avant-garde who is always seeking new forms of expression in the surrounding objects. After the tragedy in New York September 11, 2001 Konstantin Simun has made a new masterpiece – “Twins.”

At the VIII Design Biennale “Modulor 2011″ took place the designers fashion show, in the category- students.

At the gallery space of Art-hotel “Rachmaninov” the opening session of the photo exhibition “Wiki loves Petersurg”, organized by “Wikimedia RU” foundation took place.

The Jury had to do a difficult job, choosing from more than 4472 works 10 best and representatives of Russia on the international part of the contest Wiki Loves Monuments 2011. The result of such huge project was not only the completion of illustrative materials for the free encyclopedia “Wikipedia”, but also drawing public attention to architectural heritage of St. Petersburg protection.

Art exhibitions in the concept art-hotel “Rachmaninov” always run as something special. Here people of different professions gather together: business people, artists, musicians, poets, writers, photographers. This time among the guests were partners of the Art-hotel, representatives of leading tourism companies, as well as, the art elite of the city. A lottery was a pleasant surprise of the opening. Prizes were very nice: any photo from the exhibition to choose, the exhibition catalog and a three-day stay at the Art Village «Rajan Loma» – a branch of Art-Hotel “Rachmaninov” in Finland.
